Franck Carducci & The Fantastic Squad
Multi-instrumentalist Franck Carducci (bass, keyboards, guitar, drums, etc.) grew up in a family where music was a way of life. At the age of 5, he made his first steps with a Hammond organ, then learned to play guitar and joined his first rock band when he was 14. Gradually, he delved into a type of music that, while remaining accessible, was structurally more complex and with different atmospheres. After listening to bands like Pink Floyd and Genesis, he embedded himself in progressive rock with heart and soul. As Franck's musical life progressed, he learned to play bass and drums, which provided him with an in-depth knowledge of the various instruments involved in a classic rock band. The culmination of these experiences gave him the ability to create the various arrangements that are part of his songs today. Between the ages of 20 and 30, he played with over 20 different bands and participated in the recording of 15 albums. Two of them paired him with French singer Yanne Matis, with whom he toured throughout Europe.
In 2008, Franck moved to Amsterdam, got involved in the local scene, and regularly performed in the city's famous clubs. It was in 2010 when Franck opened a concert for one of his heroes, Steve Hackett, who encouraged him to focus on producing a solo album. This was the starting shot for 'Oddity,' which was recorded with several guest musicians and takes you through imaginary tales of unlikely characters inspired by English literature and Greek mythology. His melodic songs reflect inspirations from various bands, where the symphonic touch is quite often present.
